Friday, February 02, 2007 DAY 2 OF ATTACHMENT PROGRAMME! its DAMN cool la!! GRINNE:] am having SO much fun there! making friends and simply doing the type of things that we dun usually do in our labs:] i love it that their labs are air-conditioned. i love it that they have such cool equipments. i love it that we have to wear lab coats!! i love it that their buildings are all named after molecules in biology. i love it that their building are so big and i can do all the kind of things that i can onli imagine of doing. i love it there man!!PICTURE TIME!  just a group of newly formed friendships:] we were at the sky garden[aka visitor centre]. the whole place is made of glass, except for the decorations and furniture of course. a glass meeting room! cool right?oh, this sky garden runs on solar energy. the system for us to tap our cards:] we have to tap it everywhere we go. even to use the lift:] they're rich:] even their soap are also so nice:] muahaha:] just some of the apparatus used.:] an attempt at murder... with a micropipette!! IMPOSSIBLE! PIPETTE GUN! this is WAY COOL! u put the pipette into the top part and press the two button thingy and it sucks up and release the liquid! its cool and fun! my log book:] that is the diagram of settin up of the gel eletrophorosis. the project that we are working on. its a summary. muahaha:] GENOME block! COOL huh? its right opp the building i'm at. which is proteos. and we are near the building name matrix too. my own biohazard waste basket:]we throw everything in there:] my work bench:] my tutors!! [left]Marvin Lee and Puay Loke! Marvin has such nice eyes!! ggrrr! and he's an astar scholar, back for his one yr attachment before continuing with his masters. whereas, puay loke has been working in astar for 5 to 6 yrs now. they are both working in the SARS research team. of course, Marvin is just on attachment. anyway, he's termed PAPA LEE!! i started calling him father when he kept calling us children on the first day, and it evolved to PAPA LEE! and he's onli 6 yrs older, so much for calling us children. :] GROUP 3 with our dear tutors! and as marvin is papa lee, we made him seat right in the centre as if it's a family portrait of some sort. |
