Monday, July 21, 2008 officially, school has started for me and today marks the beginning of the third week i'm here! in these two weeks, i've explored quite abit, thus, i have tons of pictures to show. just some impt info first. :] i have gotten my aussie number, if u want it, email me at my sch's email and i'll tell u. u can always sms me at my sg number without any extra cost incurred to u or me. and i'll reply with my aussie number. i'm super bored here, so i'll most prob reply u when i read the msg :] let's date back a while shall we?  believe it or not, this is the name of my plan's company. i actually think their logo is nice :]  and they do recycle their phones. not only those old models but models like n95, etcetc.  there's a taiwanese shop in the back alley of the city. it's seriously a back alley. this place sells bubble tea. but at a ridiculous price! 3.50AUD for one simple cup of milk tea that we can easily get for 1.20SGD or 1.50SGD. but i really like it there cos they keep playing mtv. so it just reminds me of the times i have with my friends in kbox. their city seems small. or maybe it's cos i have not explore everything. but city back home means a huge place. here, it just refers to queen st mall. hmms.. anyway, we went to my friend's colleges to explore a little.  this is one of their toilet. it's shared with god knows how many girls. and more imptly, it cant be locked.  jean, huiqi, suzen and me at the great court! on saturday, the four of us decided to go out and stretch our legs.. :]  we took the city cat! as the name goes, the boat is shaped like a cat!! okay, those who believe that sentence can go jump off the building already. anyway, we went to goldcoast!!  how beautiful right? and i'm just kidding. this is southbank. with their fakebeach and all :] they even have lifeguard there :]  the four of us amidst the weekend market.  at some part of southbank.  and that's me.  eating churros :]  anyone wants a ride? after that, we went to the city and toowong. and it was time for us to head back to the hostel.  what a beautiful sunset right? but the night didn't end there. i went with some towermates to eat indian food in a restaurant called "one night in india". stop laughing :] then we head on to david's house to watch tv. it happened to be showing batman begins.  ann louise! all curled up in the sofa at david's place. u know what, she has a very nice room with a queen size bed and more closet space and she pays the same rent as me. how lucky! anyway, she's really nice person to talk to and she just turn nineteen on july 11! happy birthday AL! :]  all of us at david's place :]  can u see anything? this is how dark it is here. from 6 onwards.. how sad right? that's why the students here watch alot of tv, dramas and movies! and with that, there's this file sharing prob in school which i used that got me TONS of movies, dramas and what not. so my nights here will be occupied somehow! on sunday, i got a visitor from sg!!  AUNTIE IS IN BRISBANE!! :]  we're at her hotel! the bed is HUGE!  i brought her around the city but next time, i aim to bring her to the direct factory outlet! are u excited auntie? i hope u come again soon! i miss all of u!  this is just a small part of officeworks. it's has every known office supplies.' including..  POST IT NOTES!  this is a western meet eastern dinner farewell for one of my friend's family. i cooked none of the above. :]  this is how they show their tents. cute right?  and this is how their cinema looks like before the show begin. it's almost like a theatre, so even u sit in front, it wont strain that much as compare to back home. the interesting part is, it's free seating! so u have to go early to get good seats! and of course, i watched the dark knight.  i went to this church! i think it's the oldest catholic church in queensland or something. it's very pretty!  the interior. look at the organ pipes! it actually works!  and this is the organ!  one of the pretty windows.  have u seen police on bikes?! hahaha :] it's really cool how their police actually patrol around the city often.  finally took their train. look so movie like right?  the tracks and what not. and the trains dun actually go fast often unlike mrt. short distances, they go slow.  what a beautiful day! sadly, i got lost!! this is the result being new. they have to change train here and there and it's all so complicated. shall attempt it again soon.  it takes skill to drink from such a short ht. when we're back at the city, i finally found the crumpler shop!!!!  i always tot in sg, there was only a pathetic few shops. here. there's only one.  crumpler brand apples.  i like the way they put their bags. those are actually chairs.  i was trying to imitate the crumpler logo.  doesn't this look nice? well, it made my stomach churn for hours after eating. :( i didn't pay so much to become a burden but yet, i feel that when i'm with certain ppl. i need to find my own space here. a space where i fit in, where i dun feel left out, where i feel at ease and more imptly, away from u. i dun deserve this kinda attitude from u esp when i helped u out quite abit. u just made me appreciate my true friend back home even more.. that's all for now.. i have to go prepare my notes for tml's lecture! :] drop a comment! Tuesday, July 08, 2008 HELLO TO ALL!! :] I AM IN AUSTRALIA! :] enjoying wintertime none the less :] i finally got my internet connection today, so shall keep u updated on what's happening! but first! since i have limited access, pls email to my school's email and not my hotmail. my email's available on the sidebar :] here it goes! i have boarded a nature hiking school. okay.. that doesn't make sense. well, the entire school is filled with uphills and downhills. tons of steep ones. so basically, as i walk around school, i actually have to hike up and down :] and it gets dark here super early like at 5. and by 530. it's complete darkness, the kind that u may experience when it's midnight. actually, u'll nv experience it in sg cos there's too many streetlamps back home. here is basically dark. so, from 530 till i slp, i have to entertain myself. and all the shops generally closes around 5 too! hahaha.. anyway, thank god they play F.R.I.E.N.D.S everyday at 530.. or was it 6? i lost concept of time here.. :]  my family :]  my fave cousins :]  hans n me :]  lcw! OMG LA! i seriously thought u all not coming that day can?! grinne :] but i love the surprise! i'll be back soon!  francis, zr, moi and ra :] zr was the surprise man.. but thanks guys for coming down. and rara, THANKS FOR THE BOOK! and the puzzle! :] zr, thanks for the album! and francis, i heard the song le :] now, off to aussie!  so many luggage for me alone!! can u imagine i have to carry everything up my hostel?!  ta-da! my hostel!  and one random road.. i take this road very often to go to the centre of the uni. uphill! downhill!  yepp.. i live in this tower :]  the gate.. look abit like prison right?  their law library. it's very nice right the engraving!  me on the great court (which is outside the law lib)  wanna guess how much this is? 2.80bucks. no choice, desperate for a bottle. why dun just get a mineral water? cos they cost the same. -_-"'  hmms.. microwave ovens for public use.  water cooler! thank god it's everywhere. their water taste salty. but the water cooler seriously beats my home's water. i can drink the water from my home till i want to vomit..  bet u never seen such BIG FAT rooster right! sua ku!! :]  my bed. and no, it's not that messy now. i was just unpacking!  toilet!  the living room. i live with another girl. ours is a 2 man apartment. and she has a queen size bed. -_-"'. worse thing is, huiqi paid less than me, she got a bigger room than me. hahaha.. but doesn't matter. more space means more messy only.. :]  kitchen!  portable heater :] since my room is small, it's right next to my bed and table.. :] my butt is nice and warm! anyway, dun underestimate this heater. it kept my room very toasty at night. so warm till i dint know it was raining this morning. the temp here is around 17-20. at night, around 7 :] when it rains, it's quite cold. otherwise, it's generally okay :] at night and when it's raining, u can blow smoke!!  my packed room. the table is HUGE. i love the table :]  i finally caved and bought a proper meal today. [for yest's dinner and today bf, i simply ate one sliced of bread buttered with jam. other than that, i got no food. so kelian right?] this burger alone, cost 4.10bucks. it's like hamburger. inside just that thin patty with two slices of beetroot and two slices of tomato. well, what can i expect right? they charge 1 bucks for a normal sandwich, actually, cant call it sandwich. i shall call it, 2 slices of bread buttered with vegemite (similar to marmite). 1 buck leh! then the price increase till 4 buck when they put vege inside -_-"'  this is like half the normal microwave container size. and it's selling at 3.80.  me and huiqi cam whoring on the way to our "UQ exams" course.  we had the course here :]  some cool and comfy place at the engineering place.  look at the amt of cars! their parallel parking skills so much better than ours. and MIND U, their driving etiquette is SO much better than in spore. if ure reaching the zebra crossing, they'll def stop and let u cross even if they were driving at very high speed before hand.  their bus schedule. they SERIOUSLY go according to this schedule one. the bus wont leave earlier. they'll just sit there and wait! i heaven gotten to take the bus yet. still waiting to make my student ID  the entire uni map.. look very big right? but it's very walkable. but then again, i used to walk from my hse to jj all the time. so.. hahah :]  does being late for class classify as an emergency?  this watercooler's at the bus stop!  laundry room! hangers..  dryers :]  washing machine. like DUH! and i cooked today!  egg with mushroom. ermm.. not so nice taste.. i'm not that big a fan of this particular mushroom. not i buy one! i know alot of u must be thinking why i bought it if i dun like it right?  this one, i made it :] anyhow cook also very nice :] see mummy! i can survive here one! dun cry already kk? love ya loads!! |
