Saturday, May 24, 2008 wahhh.. been so busy to blog recently. anyways, i'm getting annoyed with the uni applications. no one wants to accept me but yet, they dun reject me either. sighhs.. hahaha :] anyway, major things that happened this weekk. ermmm.. HAPPY BELATED BDAY JIE!! :] LOVE YOU SSSOOO MUCH! and .. CONGRATULATION TO MISS LULU!! :} when are u gonna drive me around? grinne :] today, all the youngsters at work decided to go vivo for lunch. damn exciting can, seeing how we onli had one hour lunch break. but anyway, we decided to eat at secret recipe. it was damn fun!! below are three extracts of some of the convo. extract one. us: May i know what is that catch of the day? Manager(1): Today's catch of the day would be goldfish and luo han. (Everyone got stunned and just kept quiet for like 1 min) intern: You're kidding right? Manager(1): Yep! extract two (while another manager(2) was taking our orders) Manager(1): -points to intern- this is the girl who wants luo han fish, the catch of the day. Manager(2): oh! i'm so sorry, we only offer that after two. extract three us: Mr goldfish! can you pls have dolphin for ur next catch of the day? Manager(1): hmms, cant! we have to be friendly to them. Rara: we dun need to eat them, we just need to ride them! then after that, we had to rushed back to the office. so we rushed to the taxi stand. and since i wore a terrible slipper today, my soles are like getting burned and i said one sentence tht sounded SO WRONG when i was complaining about it to rara. me: omg! i must walk on the heels of my feet cause my balls hurts!! Saturday, May 17, 2008 it's been a long time since i last blogged. well, been very tired with the decisions on uni and i'm still waiting for pictures to come in. anyway, it's like 145am now and i'm youtubing. is it weird for someone my age to actually like hi-5? well, i've liked them for as long as i can rmb. actually, i just like their songs alot. i dun really bother about the rest of the show. and i only like the original group but i dun really like charli cos of her voice and i like kathleen the best. but still, they're the best. how i wish i could just get my hands on a music disc full of their songs. sighhs.. it's a wish not to be fulfilled in singapore. anyway, talking bout wishes, emz has bought me my egg pendant! grinne :] thanks so much girl! i'm gonna treasure it alot. and i really mean ALOT. grinne ;] today, down with a terrible cold, i walked all the way from tangs to bugis! grinne :] well, i crave for secret recipe, so walked all the way to plaza sing. after which, i had to return my library books even tho the library has closed. so i actually speed walked most of the way from ps to bugis. it's a good workout man! and i found out that the national library has 24h bookdrop. now, the only thing to find out is whether returning before 12am on the day of ur due date count as returned on the due date or the next day. sighss. i'm feeling very rotten today. i bought something thinking that i'm actually gaining cos the original price would be around 1 buck more. but it turns out that i have very bad memory so, i'm actually losing out 4 bucks plus. sighhs.. to add on to this rotten feeling, i twisted my ankle -_-"' actually, i dun feel rotten. i totally just feel like shit. for this, i will not have lunch the entire week to "repay" the money lost and to punish myself for my stupidity. after doing some research on cockroaches, i just found out that pandan leaves are a natural repellent against cockroaches. someone should have told me this earlier. i would be so happy to live is a house filled with it! read this scientific journal. anyway, i'm starting to not make any sense anymore.. so i shall go slp now.. Monday, May 05, 2008 I did found a leprechaun today. But, as the saying goes, luck can go both ways. Indeed, it went both ways for me today. The traffic wasn't that bad but i got a very very strict examiner. "Over performance is a bad thing" was the first thing he told me when we went back. as expected, my lane changing killed me. i was marked down for that to the max cos i wasn't lane changing smoothly as he wanted. but what i was shocked at was the amount of points he marked me down for failure to confirm safety in the circuit. and his rationale was that i wasn't at the exact location in the lane as he had expected. -_-"' next time, i'll rmb to bring a measuring tape. and i also got marked down for failure to keep within the lane. and that was when i was gonna do a right turn. now, i'm demoralised. but the more impt thing is, i dun think i have any more energy to deal with this driving thing. i need to find the energy somehow. sighhs.. after thinking about this the whole day, i manage to cheer a teeny bit. of course, i cheated by using the help from carbohydrates. but still, it's just a feeling. i came to a conclusion that it seriously doesn't matter how well u drive. the practical test is just a test of ur luck. if u get a strict teacher like mine, he'll squeeze out any thing and claim it to be a mistake n u'll nv pass. so fellow trainees, just go have ur test without any worry. it's not up to u anyway. thanks renee for the chat. somehow, i felt much better after it. i think i shall lay off driving for a while now. Saturday, May 03, 2008 HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH!! this totally cheered me up from my not-so-good experience at nus today.. this is an essay from my friend's tuition class today. "An unluck day" "Oh no, my alarm cock broke down and it was 7am. I left 20 min to the school. But the school bus is already gone! What should i do? My father has gone to work. My maid said take a pubic bus to scool. So i ran to the bus stop. I waited for 5 min, then the bus came. It was packed like sardines. The bus driver was very old and he was driving slowly." --words are DIRECTLY taken from the essay, even the spelling errors. :]:] as i was reading sk's old post about his kid's english mistakes and i realised i forgotten our dear bio teacher goh's favourite phrases. can someone pls refresh them for me? and to the dear dear bio teacher, if ure reading this, pls leave a tag w ur famous phrases that u always use :] i guess i just miss class life. back to my not-so-good experience. let's see, i went for my interview at faculty of sci today. and the bad thing about it being a discretionary admission interview, almost the entire session is asking me about my leadership stuff. typical questions like "what would u do for the science club?" came up. they even asked me how i would advertise my event. suddenly, i felt like i was interview for some marketing positions. hahah :] i like the part when they ask if this exhibition of mine is going to be held in the canteen, i simply replied "i think you would need a much bigger place than that." grinne :] but that's not at all the worse part. when i got out, i saw a glimpse of the science students. some were talking about maths all day, some were swearing at the formulas (like it helps-_-"'). all the guys i saw there were either gangster like or super nerdy (as in, really hunching, plus the heavy bag and the waist high pants and tucked in shirts). what happened in between the end of jc life and the start of uni? did army did this to them? i doubt so, army should have made them more smart looking. the girls were generally okay. except for one whose sneeze startled me. she was like a distance away from me and it was outdoor but her sneeze was just THAT LOUD. then while holding her laptop and walking her gangster walk, she walked past me and snnnEEZE again. she didn't bother covering her mouth and i think the whole faculty of science heard her. well, who knows, maybe next time u'll see me being vulgar, unhygienic and nerdy and u'll probably find me in the science club. shudders. okay, right now, my friend is getting agitated bout guys have more privileges just cos, in her words not mine, they have a "xiao di di." and by privileges she means that they get a second shot at uni application next yr and wont be considered laggin behind by the society. so guys, u should celebrate that u have a "xiao di di." alrights! who wants to go take a pubic bus? Thursday, May 01, 2008  this is a SUPER SUPER MAGNIFIED VERSION OF MY THUMB. my manicured finger for 3 days.. :] let's see.. i'm more in the mood to blog today :] let's start with work. the only reason i'm still hanging on the job is seriously cos i need money. they have on going renovations now and it's taking place like right next to me. and just becos the stupid dumb secretary sits damn far away from the renovation place, she demands that we open the door to the photocopying machine (which is like INSIDE the renovation site) so that ppl will know that it's there. -_-"' lame shit from her seeing how she doesn't have to sit right beside the place where all the paint smell comes out from. by lunch time, i was very ready to hurl. by night time, i really hurled. great. it's amazing how they dun think of everything before they start renovating. next day, i just brought a mask to work. to hell with ppl laughing at me, i wasn't going to sniff in any more paint rubbish. third day, they started drilling. it was damn loud but that is okay. what's not is that they did not seal up the top area right next to me. so it was raining dust the whole time for me. what an incentive from work. -_-"' and guess what, they actually gave me a wrong pay. -_-"' seriously. anyway, some fun picture from work.  read the words CAREFULLY.   well, my current work aint exactly busy at all. or rather, the schedule can be planned better. hahah. i even made a caterpillar for rara. but dint get a pic of it. anyway, work is getting me depressed actually. why? look at the picture below.  this is spent by one customer. -_-"' it's like 40k plus. it's enough to cover my tuition fees in aust and they can just spend it like that. another one i saw was 130k plus. in cash nonetheless. with that amount, i can get my degree and live in the hostel in aust. sighhs. this uni thing is seriously killing me. it's official now that none of the business school in singapore wants me. but perhaps, for science. but is science really what i want to do? i cant even muster up any enthusiasm at the thought of being accepted there. but do i really wanna go overseas? certain issues like money and friends are keeping me from going. i'm starting to open up my mind on the money issues. at most, i'll just live like a poor kid over there, but i think i still can get by. and it's so obvious that my dad still wants me to get any tom dick harry degree here. yesterday, he asked me to study computing. like since when did i even had the slightest interest or even much knowledge in that subj? whatever it is, i cant think about all this with my driving test looming ahead. and this is another factor. what if i fail my driving test? then i wont be able to make it for the next test date. oh wells. today is labour day. i shall give my mind a break. anyway, last week went out to celebrate one of my best friend's bday :] happy bday ah guan!! :] love ya loads girl! and i have upload pic in the blog!  that's all for now. time to go catch up on whatever i'm suppose to be catching up on :] i've been following this blog about this colossal squid for these couple of days. it's actually very interesting. it weighs like 400+ kg. and its just HUGE. well, altho i think it's normal for them wanting to research, but seriously, the thing FINALLY grew to this size and they simply just kill it becos they want to find out more about it. very soon, there wont be much left in the ocean. of course, this is an understatement as the depths of the ocean have not been explored much. well, it was fun watching arts central today bout the fishes in the twilight zone. how i wish i got discovery channel. |
